Avilon Z0o
It all started when my older sister (2chi) was asked by her friend to invite me to a new zoo cause she knew of my fondness of animals.
It was an "all-expense paid" trip for me, so i agreed. why not? just the perfect stress relief from school, right? exact date was Feb.25(declared holiday) i was happy... my world was in peace... man was i sooo wrong...
Coz this has been planned a week earlier.
but i asked my younger sister (edz) to come with us then she asked our oldest sister(khs) to accompany her, and khs invited her friend(nephew contemplating) we also asked mom(she declined don't like long drives) then it gets worse...
Mom told us to ask our cousins(family included not asked separately) edz decides to ask her best friend to come along(didn't go,had something to do)
So basically the news traveled like wildfire and everyone was getting invited some for good company(others for the sake of courtesy)
I got ranted on by 2chi for inviting the WHOLE CLAN to HER TRIP, when I was the only one actually invited.
Lots of arguments later...
So here's the list of those who came: 2chi and friends (one w/her 3 sons) edz with cousins and their mother(our aunt) + aunt's sister + khs and friend with nephew.
We woke up at 6am waited up for cousins(had own ride...Thank God!!! cause we only have a small car...think sentra) met up with khs's friend then picked up the friend who proposed the event... carpool until we reached the zoo.
At Avilon we arrived early so had the opportunity to be part of the first group to tour the grounds, each tour lasts about 2 hours then you are free to roam the place unescorted. Our targets were assigned properly by "the boss(wo)man" 2chi looks after friends and 3 boys, edz looks after cousins and, me after khs and her friend with nephew.
I was too excited to think straight so i took pictures of the first animals that was featured crocodiles (people kept on saying "crikey" when shown the biggest croc in the zoo) next was the monitor lizards(which the zoo is proud to have been the first to have bred successfully) then the capybaras (largest specie of rat) so eventually to have found out that the glass tank in which the animals were enclosed made reflections which totally ruined the pictures was a real bummer!!!
The tigers were sleeping so was the lions(drat!) and the snakes had just been fed so can't take it out to let us hold it(bec. it was said to make a mess on us by puking its food out...double drat!)
But the sun bear was awake got a good shot of it too... =)

i'm innocent :(

Eventually the cheetah woke up too but not that good of a shot he wouldn't sit still kept on pacing around his cage...

Velocity commercial...

An hour and a half into the tour, we entered the reptile pavillion and i was charmed by the snakes and lizards and spiders in their tanks so i got left behind by the group...good thing i was wearing neon green shirt (they make me wear bright clothes when we go to new places, in the apprehension of me getting lost as usual) called 2chi, who found us and picked us up...

Snake

see my reflection?

we had the chance to see a white peacock in full bloom(courting the female) we were like nuts talking to the bird to keep it up as we were getting ready our cameras, well either luck was on our side or we can speak peacock...it worked.

gobble gobble...

And when we were by the pond we saw movement in the water whoa! that was a big fin...it seems that we saw the big fishes that lived there. As a joke we told our cousin to next time bring uncle/aku(their father) along to go fishing here cause we would surely have a big catch...but then i think that's illegal.
Because of our aunt still having work, the friend of older sister giving up walk, and the scorching hot weather we were forced to go home.

MULAWIN wahahahaha

But wait they went home...while we made a few stops(hehehe...)
To the World of Butterflies(no im not high its what the place was called...really!) it was a butterfly sanctuary that teaches people all about butterflies they have lectures, samples of each of the butterflies life cycle inside cages with fine netting to avoid escape and the base having a moat like stand filled with water to prevent ants from coming up and feasting upon the flesh of the young and unborn pupating lavae(naks...spokening dollar). Entrance is 20php i think it was worth the trip. There were butterflies EVERYWHERE, and it will land on you if you stay still.
So returning again to an oven-like car (the whole day was scorching hot) we took 2chi's friend home then decided to develop the film(only to find out that 11 out of the 36 shots were a mere blur...yurgh!)
We ended the day with a "night swim" in the Bellevue pool, as a means to cool off and ponder about the things that we did that day.
